With the gearbox out and stood on its end I took off the tail shaft housing so I could better see the full length of the output shaft and splines. The yoke was a tight fit ...

The magnum 500's, they are gone now as they were 14's and all different width and offsets, not 1 matched!

This is maybe were I'll loose a few fans, as im going to run it on modern 17" wheels in matt black with polished rims.

In terms of "H" pipes, i think it is as broad as it is long, "H" pipes can make some tasks a real pain.

BTW, if you think your set up is tight, try a big block in one of those Puppies!! ;)

I've been every year for the past 12 years to le mans and le mans classic. great event, great country, great roads.

Been twice in my 58 Apache pickup and once in my 68 VW camper, other years normal road car, so not as much fun then.
Last year was the best, took it easy , kept off the toll roads ...

The other thing im not sure about is fitting a H pipe across the exhausts. I know it supposed to help with scavenging but has anyone got a system fitted that doesn't have the balance pipe? As I'm told it sounds better without?

Do you have receipts for the engine work? If it's had a serious build, they could have upgraded to an internally balanced crank. Just something to bear in mind.
Dont have any receipts but it does look a fresh build with new core plugs , gaskets ...

Hi all thanks for feedback, I'll be asking lots of questions.

first off the converter fitted isn't balanced, looks to be an aftermarket item, hence why im going for the balanced flex plate.

Re the rear axle, its is a Ford 9" unit , shortened on one side to put the diff in the correct place. Spoke ...

Yep, I've been doing other cars for friends,hence this sat for a while ( 12 months untouched) hope is now to have it registered on the road by Easter
