Saturday was a washout due to me accidently having 8 pints Friday night after Blue Oyster Cult. I had "Chores" to do to.

But I got some graft in Sunday afternoon. I just have to weld in one angled bit I have not quite got right yet and then I think I might be done up to the mufflers.

Then just the tailpipes to sort out and with luck they will not need cutting (except for length).

Getting close to finishing.

I had to bend the left side cut-out away from the speedo cable into the GV unit.
Completely ignoring my own advice to only tack weld until the whole length is complete, I had to change the angle of the cut-out after welding it because of the emergency brake being in the way of the muffler so now the left side cut-out turns down over a half inch more than on the right side.
It is annoying but something people probably will not notice with the car on the ground.

Other that that the system has quite good ground clearance despite being somewhat lower that the stock TTI system is supposed to fit.

I might have time to mount one tailpipe tomorrow night.

I also wrapped the speedo cable in protective tape where it comes close to the pipe. You can see how close it is in one photo.

I first saw BOC in the 70s just after they had recorded "Don't Fear The Reaper" but before it had had any air play in the UK. They recorded part of their second live album "Some Enchanted Evening" at that Newcastle gig. They played and recorded a song by The Animals in tribute to the Newcastle band that had influenced them the most when they were teenagers.

This was when they used to put on a huge show with what at the time were the biggest most powerful lasers ever used.
They don't allow lasers like that for public performances these days. Too dangerous.
It was a show that has stayed with me ever since. It blew me away.
They are a bit more mellow these days. But I have seen them twice in recent years and really enjoyed it. They were a little sloppy on their timing now and again this time around. But I can forgive that.

Only kiddin, fingers crossed she'll make the nats, just keep an easy pace and dont burn yourself out.

Great work Dave! Can I ask if you are fitting rubber hose round the braided line as it goes through the chassis in case of chaffage due to vibration?

I have a plan on that front. Some stuff I have here at work.
Although I suspect that it will be the stainless braiding chaffing the chassis rather than the other way around.
Also a length of insulated and armoured cable containment tube that will be ideal for that exposed length on the subframe connector.

All pipework round the trans area has to be armoured in Oz, but I think thats normal NHRA/MSA rules...........
