Thanks for the info guys much appreciated. My car will be driven on the street. I'm not using a standard fuel tank, its hung lower and its a fair bit larger than a standard one so I was just going to use fuel as ballast? just trying to move the weight from on top of the car so its a bit more stable?
For the street I'd leave the glass rear screen in, just do the side windows and leave it at that. As Pete says, Barracudas have little rear overhang and need all the rear weight they can get. I would limit your weight removal from the back of the doors forward if I was you, you want to try and achieve 50/50 weight distribution if you can.
“Buy it broke and fix it wrong, it’s the American way”
My car is still a street car, and it also runs a fuel cell.
It has an 8.50 roll cage in it, plus an aluminum fire wall to separate the passenger compartment from the cell. This makes getting the slicks in a bit of a faff....
I am only putting in lexan windows in the "back" as it means you can remove the winder mechanism that weighs a fair bit. This way the lexan can be fitted easily and will not have to move.
I would be interested to see in how you are planning to do the other windows. I have to say that I would find fixed plastic "drop glasses" a pain - even at the track it is handy to be able to wind the windows down.
