Yes Dunc , tis the outlet on the sandwhich plate , the two on the filter adapter are to tight to take a fitting off , they supply a blank plug to blank one off , so you can use rear or bottom entry , i only fitted the sandwhich plate cos the oil pump drive would of been too long had i done away with it , was just gonna blank t off , this motor was originally used with twin oiling from a swinging pickup , one oil line went to the sandwhich plate , the other to base of pump , i know you know this but just tryin to explain what i got , maybe drain back & having to prime the pump won't be a problem usin the sandwhich plate , as the pump will always be full of oil , using the bottom outlet can drain the oil out the pump & back into sump?

Engine size is always rounded up, ( i.e. a 440 is a 439.72 ), so you are building a 605 Adam.AllKiller wrote:604.63 spot on,Brutus wrote:Ok , the way i worked the displacement.............

it's a 604".
Knew it was bigger than 572 but was guessing at crank stroke![]()
BAM.... Big Arse Mutha

Looking good too, what's happening with the oil pump?
Think i might notch the K frame , took a closer look @ the size of oil way in the sandwich plate , it's larger than the oil ways in the pump , also larger than the stock pickup oil way in block , but not as large as the oil feed if using oil feed in bottom of adapter/filter plate , i reckon i should be ok , but pondering on cutting the K frame & using bottom oil feed.
Primed the oil system with drill , seems to be a bad leak down on all roller lifters on base circle of cam , as soon as they lift no problen with leakage , maybe got the wrong lifters in there , which may have contributed to starvaton @ #4 main , just put the question across the pond , how much leakdown is acceptable?.
Might have to reduce the oil to the drivers side lifter gallery , or maybe different lifters.

Sounds like your cam has a low basecircle and the undercut in the lifter is being exposed to the sump. Comp cams sell a load of different roller lifters for BB Mopars, not sure why other than pushrod length.

I think the groove in the lifters is to low, so when the lifters are down they expose the lifter gallery , when they come up they obviously close off the gallery , might think about different lifters , or maybe drill deeper into the rear of drivers gallery & install a plug with a small hole drilled into it , but this won't help on the pas side lifter gallery , maybe eliminating leak down on 8 lifters will do the trick.
Takin soooooooo long building this thing.

It's not pouring out the top of lifter bores , but don't know if it's enough to cause an issue with the mains not gettin enough pressure , all the bearings i stripped out looked fine appart from #6 , so they must of been getting enough oil down there.

could poss see a pressure drop at low revs mate , think like dunc says look in to different lifters on the other hand how much press do you need going to roller lifters ?
