THOSE BIG OLE ROLLER LOBES PUT A HEAVY THRUST ON THE LIFTER WALLS , SO A GOOD THING BUSHING THE LIFTERS , ALTHOUGH THEY MIGHT LAST A LITTLE LONGER WITHOUT THE BORES BEIN BUSHED.

I checked it out today , the leak down was coming out the top of lifter where it oils the pushrod , so the lifters are fine , i think i'll be ok when the motor spins up , obviously it's not a problem when running pushrod oiling , although the pushrods arn't drilled anyhow , with the correct lash clearance it should'nt be a problem.

Will monitor oil pressure @ high rpm.

What do you call "high rpm" on that motor, Adam - I thought you were a 5200 man???

Probably 5400 Pete. :D

That's interesting Steve .......................what happens after #2 set of lifters , the oil gallery still has to feed #3 4 & 5 mains , i could understand the logic if the gallery was opened up all the way from front to back.
Thanks for posting that up.

Hausers do not open all the way to the back, and I believe B1 Brian's block is bushed on the pass side but not opened up all the way either.

I can only assume there is sufficient oiling for the mains and they wish to avoid over-oiling the drivers side, if not completely blocked off....

Maybe Duncan can explain why this is the case.

The lifters sit pretty close to the turn from main gallery into lifter gallery , maybe this is why the gallery is opened as far as #2 lifters.

from my earlier post ;) .....the oil galley feed needs to be enlarged if they are....
...(to avoid oil flow reduction to the mains galley),
as thats where it changes direction down to the mains, and the bush goes into the galley further there than the lifters did.

The fix is you have to open the galley there from the front of the block only as deep as the first 2 lifters on the pasenger side, and tap and insert a 1/2 inch plug in the front of the block.
this allows enough oil past the first 2 lifter bushes to the rest of the Galley

Thanks Steve but no problems , got plenty oil goin through the motor , lifters arn't bushed , aso got PR oiling which helps the big ole roller get plenty of oil @ idle.

Only problem if a lifter jumps out , will give me an excuse to refresh/upgrade the motor anyhows. :D

602/5 has been sittin on the floor for a week ready to put back in & fire up , GOT NO HEADERS  , will put it in anyhows & fiddle the headers in when i get em. :help:

Gotta reconfigure the 3 on tree linkage as TTI say the 2 1/8 step headers will foul , has been a real bitch so far , so that don't bother me.

I hear what yer sayin Dunc & that's why i did'nt fit it back..........gotta move the rad forward & other bits to mock up , i'm hoping to pull drivers side up a fair bit to feed drivers side header in , if it don't go will just lift it back out , @ least i'll know all the other bits line up & just the headers to mess with.

Brutal, what TTI headers are you using had a big problem trying to fit the last ones they were for an A body with B block with indy heads, but they didn't fit my heads because of the angle of the ports mine are 383-13 similar to the 572-13. We finally fitted them to my Brothers car but they needed a spacer on the passenger side or they would have hit the valve cover. I've got some pics I'll have a look later :thumbright:
