Adam, It's looking good mate, are you having a scoop (front facing) or a cowl induction (rear facing) bonnett. That's a nice bit of welding on that rocker cover, who did it. You'll have to take me out in it when you get down to Chelsea, or give me the keys ;)

a busy looking engine bay there ad, but looking great , hope the header fitting goes ok cus as we know they can be a pain in the rear to fit! will you be using studs or bolts on the headers ? i use studs which makes removal a right pain but then dont get any issues with blowing, or bolts slackening off :thumbright:

Will go for bolts Jim , no way those headers will 'slip in' if using studs , but i hear what yer sayin. I normally check em every once in a while , can tell when they back out coss i end up takin the valve covers off & checkin the lash.

to remove my headers with the studs i have to take engine mount bolts out and jack the motor up then they just clear , but i can certainly understand clearance probs with your motor :thumbright:

You know it makes sense :D , can also use bolts as the alu heads don't go into the water jacket.

The alum heads will bleed off more heat so the compression will probably be the same as the iron heads , probably talking about 8cc? , also the alum head should flow better , if yer worried then reconfigure head gasket thickness to compensate , will also take around 45lb off the nose , that's gotta be tempting.

No more jackin the motor up to clearance for studs , will be bolts all round. :D
