I started to rebuild the engine today after i picked up all the parts i need from real steel this morning and when i went to install the new cam this is what i found on cam bearing no 4.
This has set me back as i was hoping to finish rebuilding the engine this weekend. Now i either have to put into a machine shop to have the bearing replace or do the job myself if i can find the tools required to do it.
Dropped the block to the machine shop this morning to have the cam bearings replaced and should get it back tomorrow and with a few late nights I should have it ready for Saturday to go back in the car.

I hope you dropped the cam off as well. When the machine shop did mine, the bearings weren't fitted quite right. The cam wouldn't spin!
If they've got the cam, they can trial fit and make sure everything turns as it should.
oy who added that last comment!!!!!!!!!!!!! mine will do 100 no probs and not down hill with the wind and tide either have to some time to catch scott up !!!
I like to be different so I'll leave the dizzy there.
Finished re-assembly last night and put the first coat of paint on last night. Tonight I'll fit the new leads, fit dip stick tube and tie up any loose ends and then refit the engine tomorrow.
Scrape off all the paint on the damper that the crank pulley will sit against. If you have paint between the pulley and the damper you run the risk of vibrations from the pully not seating 100% flat.
