At least the one I made isn't plastic laminate and is real walnut and in a far better car.
Looks like MDF to me

Still don`t like the centre console though............

Hey Jon
I'm building a 318 with +40thou bore(KB167 pistons),zero decked block,ported and polished 360 heads with 1.60 and 2.02 valves with XEH275 comp cam with matching valve springs and a demon 750 carb.
I also have a windage tray and APR main and head bolts. The heads will also be skimmed to reduce the chamber size from 72cc to 64cc to increase the compression. I have already stripped the 318 engine I'm using for this build and now I can start the machining work.
I will also match the piston and conrod weights in order to make the engine as smooth as possible before I have the resiprocating assemble balanced. The crank I have has already been oil polished and is in great shape. I will also be making my own ali valve covers and ali pulleys and if I get time I will build my own cold air induction system to top the build off.

I think your console is a good idea Anton, don't pay any attention to Mr R.Runner, I'm yet to read a constructive post from him.
When i first joined the MMA his greeting to me was
Interested to see some numbers (cam, compression etc) for the engine your building.
I still have those exhaust headers you gave me and still havn't converted them to rhd yet! infact apart from collecting a few parts I have got nowhere since I saw you last - You seem to be flying ahead!
I have loads of old 360 bits if you want anything.

MilesnMiles wrote:Anton, interesting build. Looks like a lot of cam you have there. I confess I havent read all 10 pages, but what gears and stall will you be using?
Just thinking, thats a heavy car, so i guess torque will be paramount in the build.
I brought a set of 3.23 off Dave Robson and I have just received a sure grip from the States and Baccaman is going to build the rear end for me soon. Once the engine is built I will engine dyno it and find out the true numbers and them I will buy a stall convertor that is correct for the engine and car.
For all those that are interested this is the engine build I am following to the letter.
