Dave,
Nice to hear you talking positive about the future plans for your car :thumbright:

Anton,
Nice work, hope it works out for you, if doesn't its only a few hours of thoughts & time spent in the garage.

Here are the finished results of the adjustable pinion snubber I made. This is the one I made for Derek as I have still got to collect a pinion plate up from Paul500 and then I will finish mine.

I've done a couple of bits on my car over the Christmas time ant the best of which was to up-date my headlight wiring and headlights. I brought 4 new headlights (from Auto Electical Supply) which take an H4 bulb so I can now have all four light on Dip and all four on High beam. I decided to replace the whole front harness with larger diameter wire and I also added two relays to improve the voltage getting to the lights. Power for the light come directly from the alternator and the original switch wire operate the relays to turn the lights on and off. The improvement in the light quality is astounding and I can now see very well in the dark. While I was at it I got the hood indicators working and I also added a second earth strap to the body directly from the battery.

The rubber is the original pinion snubber rubber relocated to the top of the treaded bar.

I like your new headlights.
Might have to go down that route myself - I made my latest joblist over the break (There is always something...) and one of the jobs is 'fix main beam'. I think I dislodged something fiddling with the front end. I am now wondering whether I do the same as you - new wires and units and be done with it... The new engine wiring loom is great, maybe I should do the lights too. hmm... :-k
