As soon as Jon has skimmed the heads I can put them on and the I have to modify the sump and make my valve cover and I should be done. I can put in the car till after the 5 of July as I have a couple of prom to do. So all being well it will be in for the Nats.

Pretty good! :thumbright:

Have you managed to work out how much you need to machine off?

I'm going to machine about 60thou off to bring the chamber down to 60cc to give me a static compression ratio of just over 10-1.

Great work as ever Anton , i can see you are gonna be the one to watch out for later on down the road ;) , you do all the work yourself & just seem to pick things up naturally , great work going on there , i'm sure this new motor will be a screamer , well done.

I had to cut .080" off the alu heads to take them down from 75cc to 66 cc , would think you will have @ least .070" off those heads to bring them down to 60cc , as you know intake will have to be cut around .120" for fitment , i wanted to cut the heads as opposed to intake due to being able to use intake manifold on different engines , in the end i had to cut intake as their was'nt enough material on the heads.

Cutting/milling the heads is a case of diminishing returns , the more you cut the less gets taken out the chambers , what i did was fill the chamber to 65cc & scribe a mark around the chamber , you just gotta be carefull you don't cut too much material off & compromise gasket sealing.

If it were me & i realise it's not me :D , i would install that cam on a 104 intake centreline , you got a heavy car there that needs plenty torque to get it moving...................................

As said , you're doing a great job Anton , hats off to yer. :thumbright: :thumbright:

Thanks for the advice and for the complements. The skimming is being done by Baccaman and I have asked for a 60cc chamber so he will machine the heads till he achieves this. My cam is set a zero at the moment so I can retard or advance the cam if I need to. If any of the chambers are out buy more than 0.5cc I will have to take some more out of the chambers to equalize the chambers. Adam I have built quite a few fast race bikes over the years and am always willing to new things and learn if someone is willing to teach me.

Nice work there Anton!

Had a bit of a shock when I cc'ed the Head chambers!
They were a whopping 83cc's in volume almost 11cc's bigger than a stock 360 head!
So what has happened here?
I have checked and double checked these heads and went to great lengths to find out why???
Searching on the Net did not come up with a good answer, the 360 head chamber in all the literature I read should not be larger than 75cc's.
All I can summise is that the machine shop had to cut the seats quite hard to get them to clean up?
Seconly the Inlet valve appears to be 15thou shorter than the exhaust so they have been cut into the head 'much more' to get the stem height correct.

Now here's the shocker, just fitting the Ferrea Nailheads reduces the Chamber volume by a huge 5cc's.

Bacca.
