Challenger Paintwork

Post by TyreFryer »

My Challenger was in the spray booth this afternoon having some fresh paint applied courtesy of Jay at Harris Coachworks. :thumbright:

The roof is also prepped and primed ready for the new vinyl roof, it turned out there were a few dents in the roof that have been sorted. They weren't noticeable under the original padded vinyl roof.

Thanks guys, I couldn't stop grinning when I saw it. It's felt a bit odd having other people working on it after only me for the last 11 years but they're good guys at Harris Coachworks and enthusiasts themselves.

That's looking slick, Martin!

Is the roof a primer type base for the vinyl, or gloss like the rest of the car?

Any pics of the repairs getting to this point or will we have to wait for Connected? ;)

Phil the roof is etch primed, we were concerned that the solvent in the vinyl adhesive might soften and lift a top coat.

Unfortunately I didn't get over to take photo of the repairs in progress so I'll just have before and after shots. The fill panel between the rear screen and the trunk lid is the one i got from Bacca and it's gone in a treat. They could have patch repaired the old one but we thought this would make a nicer job of it.
