Hope all of the repairs are taken care of in accordance with your wishes.

The car looked great.

I wouldn't have sat the star that close to a stunt though, that seems incredibly reckless of Shane to have done that. Having said that it wasn't my shoot and it's easy to judge in hindsight.

I hope it all goes smoothly with the repairs and payment.
working with shane to get repairs done..

belive me

nobody was sat next to the stall

the car went past it 4 times
charlie moved and joined the rest of us behind the bands van peaking out

and then Kerspalt!

then he was engineered back in using smoke mirrors and some PC based fanglry...

then 2 days before release of video his Mgmt decided to put it about that the shoot involve him getting knocked out by water melon.

Needless to say Mr and Mrs Shane are not happy

health and saftey on the shoot was well managed.

and you guys who wouldn't do it

too right........

not sure i would again if damage was a given

it was a bloody hard day

i'd certinly work with this production company again on a slightly less violent ending

but we'll see if they would work with me... they are experts in making promos and films

not in car repair.... lets hope they are not too shocked at the cost, methinks they didn't read the huge and extensive list of parts and their cost of replacement that i sent... but thats their look out

and obvioulsy i'm being straight up with them

the car was good unwelded no filler 10 foot paint odd panel gaps
and stone chips in the grill.... driver
to replicate stone chips again would be idiocy and cost more
so the aim is to replace grill with a good second hand one
and replace nose and air dam with the same

it should look and be the same afterwards minus the stone chips

to get an essentially NOS grill would cost $2500AUD

it would be a restored to factory spec grill and i'd need to supply one to the australian re-manufacturer...

i can't bring myself to do that..thats not fair....i'd need to then get the rest of the car done :)

and there are pleanty in the country who can make a decent non-bent grill nice again for less than that......

i was reasonbly well covered

the biggest risk was total write off....... during collision

1) they couldn't afford it
2) the agreed value of the car would not get me another....i'd have needed to get one of those 318 or 383 B bodies or some such and drive on the wrong side

I expect they'll be suitably impressed... or horrified... probably both!

Well done Dave, looks like it has all worked out for you quite well.
Maybe just a bit too stressful to do it again?

PS. I love your Charger, please don't do this sort of shenanigans again!

I really do not plan to
well nothing that is going to cause damage

the whole process kinda tainted the last 3 months with a vague anxiety
/minor depression

cos after the fun comes the hangover

which consists of

I'm a bloody idiot
no....

I am

why the hell did i do that etc

gonna have to learn to enjoy the car again...i just look at it and think Damage goods at the mo.

if it was a dodge charger....no probs you can get the bits much easier they made 100s of thousands and there is the aftermarket as well and if its someone elses wallet taking the burden...well

not enough aussie charger stuff of quality about they only made about 80,000 and your only new panel option is fiberglass

the front panels we got that were supposed to be good media blasted and primered condition were full of holes.....really annoying as once the shipper Tax man and and Customs had their slice i could have paid a bloke with a set of hammers and an English wheel to make a new one...
well perhaps not but some people certainly earn less in a week.

200 quid panels
300+ quid shipping
200 quid Customs vat pick it up charge, put it down charge, cup of tea charge, paperwork charge, put paperwork in an envelope and take to customs charge, do a little dance charge, TNT.

Lucky Baz Biker came up trumps with grill and drving lights last year.....

that lot would have really blown the budget

lessons learnt
