Had a look yesterday and it looks like something has blocked an oilway in the crank. No 6 rod then let go smashed the bores then allowing the rest of it to hydraulic, that is our best guess so far.

The girdle is fine, it seems it was no6 that let go and no 3 was about to follow. There is not much left of no5 bore, most of it was in the sump.Pete wrote:Jeez, sorry to see that......I would be interested to know if the girdle survived.
