morgan wrote:Impressive stuff - i love filming location pics. Ive done the dukes covington ( farm, boars nest etc) and only learned later that smokey and the bandit was like 20 miles away - gutted - i must have seen it 1000 times when i was a kid.

Have looked up most of these locations onstreetview, but kudos for actually getting there. Some of the locations look really different.

The flint river jump - where was the run up ? Did you manage to get into the woods ? I just couldnt see on the map how they did it !

Great pics Danny. I might reawaken my covington pics on this thread. I met cletus - but you met daisy ! Wow!
Cheers mate!! :thumbright:
Yep i did all the Dukes locations March 2013,had a blast finding those!! 8-)

We tried so hard mate to find the run up for the flint river jump,we just could not get anywhere near,it is just so overgrown now mate.
The landing side of the bridge tho mate is very easy to get to and sadly that is now a U-Haul self-storage depot. :(

Yes mate please bump up your Covington pics, would be great to see and compare. I have now met all the living Dukes cast.

Just re-checked google-maps.
Yeah, there is a line in the trees that clearly would have been the run-up for the river jump, and even a gate at the roadside. But from what you are saying the actual trail is long since overgrown. You must have been gutted not to get that extra 100yds to the actual site ! Top effort though.

Loving these pics. Too good to just waste on here. There are a few 'then/now' sites for smokey and the bandit - you should put a page together. Plenty would like to see these, and you have got WAY better angles to match the film than most others have achieved.

Top effort all round.

Yes, I'll dig out some covington ones. Got to see Lee1 pre-restoration and the duke-farm pre-demolition (although it was in ruins)

Gate to the run up - would have been off to the left. Looks overgrown.
