Bit of history on how cars were produced to race on Sunday, work on Monday. And how race cars had a production run to enable them into a certain race class.
Yes that is a good idea, connected marketing perhaps? .......Coat.

As I said, this isn't about all of the cars being rare but having 1 or 2 that are rare helps me build a case with the organisers for a larger stand.

But I do agree that the more cars that will make the general publics jaws drop the better. :thumbright:

Stock and race bird would be great. And depending on cars allowed perhaps a couple more examples of high and low spec cars of the same year ?
Base 318 70 Fury and a mighty 440 GT , or Coronet A12 and a 318 more door ? :D
It's all about Smiles per gallon !!!

So what is it that governs the size of the stand we get? There's no cost involved, is there?

The Mustang boys always get a mahoosive stand in comparison to ours and they cant exactly claim too have a varied selection of cars to put on theirs... :-k

The more pertinent question is who are you trying to attract or cater for? If its for the public, and trying to attract more uninitiated people into the fold, then yes the Bullit, Vanishing Point, Petty thing is the way to go i think.
If its for proper muscle car guys, then perhaps some of the rarer more special cars might be appropriate.

I'd like to see a General Lee (with a Daisy lookalike??). Whatever people think about the old General, it'll be sure to draw a crowd.
I have a 74 Roadrunner that could go with it!

The trick is to try and do both!

I remember one year we had Matt Snowball's desert burnt Road Runner rag top and Jon Connolly's wheelie truck, together with Morgan's Charger and Martin Walkers triple black Challenger.

That combination ensured there was something for everyone, not easy to do, but a big stand helps, go for it Mister Chairman!
