I appreciate vehicles of all kinds and yes it is very impressive but it's not apples to apples, as it weighs nothing, it has a big turbo and gas. Take the power adders off and show me how quick it is then.

I'm quite aware of that but it's also not 50 yr old technology and 800 lb is .8 of a second.
Unlike some mopar guys out there, i respect performance no matter what package it comes in, i may not want to own it but i do realise they are just as passionate about their cars as we are.

So I shouldnt post up videos of these 1000 bhp + 7 sec Golfs then ? .....

Prefer MOPAR anyday - been there and done the big turbo thing on many a car
but the new stuff lacks "soul", which is an important factor in a machine

Post what you like, i agree totally about the lack of soul and for every 1000hp golf there's someone running a 2000 hp chevy. He's probably got more money in his engine than i've got in my whole car.

I wonder how long a 1000hp engine like that will last? How many passes before the broom comes out

You do realise a mopar block is pushing the boundaries much over 650 hp, especially a 440 or a stroker.

A very good point, Mick; that many overlook - especially on 2 bolt cast Iron mains!!!

People also conveniently forget that forged pistons nearly go 1Kg per piston, but then proceed to buzz the hell out of the motor. That is a lot of metal trashing about on 40 year old Rods...............
