Stroker rebuild
Moderator: Moderators
Engine out Pete, much easier to work on standing up.
Had a check of the big ends and they seem ok, will drop a main cap and check those too. Had oil at the heads still by the looks of it but not enough pressure to show on gauge.
That's the way things go, just gotta carry on. Got expect some head aches when we come along and change everything Ma Mopar invested millions of Dollars developing.
Big block still on the cards at some point, get this one sorted first.

Yes it is, but I have another as well, as you doCarl wrote: ...Could be interested in the 440 is that the one from Duncan?

Mind you, it will be a bit of grief on the bell housing / clutch side of things; unless you want to see the light and go auto............

Pump and bolts are the same that were on the engine prior to rebuild. I did check the pump was sitting flush with the block when I re-fitted it, but half the gasket had vanished when I unbolted the pump, could have been enough play to destroy the pump?

Appreciate what your saying Dave and grateful for your input. I bolted pump back up to check fitting again without touching anything else and as I said pump is not sitting on a bolt or cocked over and is flat on the block. And plenty of space between the bolt and pump body 0.035" feeler gauge slipped in nicely between bolt head and pump.

Was the pump shaft that cracked and failed and the outside casing had a chunk out of it, not sure if that missing chunk on the outer case had anything to do with it, could of caused play in the pumps shaft im suspecting. Didn't find the missing chunk in the oil or sump either, maybe missing when I installed the pump and I never noticed?
