The Railway Museum is Free with a "Suggested Donation" of £3 per head.

I am quite happy with that given the cost of running the place and the exhibits.

The "Flying Scotsman" was not there. It is in Lancashire having a Boiler re-fit at a cost of £150K....quite a few £3's there...........

I did ask if they would ever Steam "Mallard" again.
They said it too would need a Boiler re-fit (Replace all the tubes that you can see in the cut-away version above).

They did not steam it for the 75th Anniversary of its record breaking run but they MAY do so for the Centenary, but I do not think I will be around to see that somehow...........

Unfortunately not Pete.......I do get the sounds of a bygone era coupled with the lovely scent of steam wafting into the house in summer though!

Gotta love old school engineering! 8-)

If you followed the track to Kiddeminster station, its probably about a 3/4 mile from my back door. The ole War weekend Is always good. Get audio of Vera Lynn plus the odd air raid siren followed by bombing audio........ 8-)
