Strikes me that the pump drive may have been slightly bent or the bush in the block is worn allowing the drive to whip.

Another possibility but was same pump and drive the came out of engine and was working fine before. I can only assume the pump got damaged somehow after it was taken out, possibly got dropped or the gasket? Its all supposition and one of life's little mysteries.

A bit of scrap could have got into the pump and that strained the drive.....

New pump (stock) I did not replace pump with another high volume pump, I decided to put a stock pump back in as I feel the stock pump is adequate enough for the stock oil ways. and still getting 75 psi no sloppy bearings then. Good to go.

Onwards and upwards!

When do you think you will get the motor back in? Will you take it to Dragstalgia?

Engine back in just need to connect everything up. Not planned to go there didn't know when I was going to get engine sorted plus nature of my work I find it difficult to get time off when I want.

you cant measure oil pressure without the engine rotating as as the oil will be deadheading against the rotating assembly

hey mate we are just feeling the pain, given the "fun" you have had with it sometimes you don't wanna ask.

if I never saw my car again at the mo. I'd be in a better place. I'm assuming yours aint that popular with you and your family at the mo. either

I've had the why don't you get someone who knows what they are doing, talking to.....torn between You cheeky so and so .... and oh I can think of where i'd spend some cash

followed by "well I'm sick of the swearing and miserable face every time you come in"

I've obviously been acting it up well :)

3 bloody carbs with six idle mixture screws is too much for me.
