Guess who popped over a while back???

Post by Pete »

Yes, indeed; our very own Power Ranger Ade Worman.

He arrived from outer space on his Turbo Nutter Basteward personalised Teleporter....

He came over to road test my rusty old nail of a Guzzi....

I DID warn him that the tyres were brand new and needed the release agent scrubbed off them and that would take 100 miles or so.............

True to form he came back about 10 minutes later with BOTH tyres with wear marks right to the tread limits - any more and the carcass sidewalls would have been marked!!! Pegs down on the roundabout that is pot-holed and usually has Diesel all over it.....Tractor Poo everywhere....yah-de-yah-de-yah.....

Space Commander Ade pronounced the Bike "Ok", but needing a 1" rise on the Rear Pre-load....

A couple of weeks later, I went though all the technical stuff and measured all the "Sag" (Bike-speak for Ride Height) and the answer came back - 1" more rise on Rear pre-load required.

Don't you hate a smart arse????

Bike now handles like it is on rails as opposed to trying to kill me all the time....

The boy done good - thanks Chap!!!!!

My mate Will has similarly irritating skills. For ages he wouldn't ride my Harris as he was 'scared of breaking it'. When I finally persuaded him, he disappeared up the road on the back wheel. He brought it back 20 mins later apologising for warping the front discs...

I must get Ade round to road test my Velocette, I appear to be getting block squirm in the rear tyre at anything over a ton on a long bend... ;)

If I were you, Ivor; I would take those Massey Ferguson Tractor tyres off it and get some decent rubber on it :thumbright: :thumbright:

.... and take the sidecar off it at the same time ;) ;)

....the post script to this story is also quite funny....

Once Captain Kirk had removed his helmet and scoffed a coffee, we went back to the garage and I eventually got him to sit on the Harley Chop...............

...there was a look of total bewilderment on his face, a sort of "this does not compute" expression which must be like the Stig on a Steam train Footplate...........

...it was sort of "Ohhh! Where do I put my feet? Why are the Handle bars so high, how do I change Gear?, where is the Brake?...I have completely lost my sense of balance....... mummy, get me out of here......"

...clearly Power Rangers do not do "Feet forward".....

...more coffee was required to calm him down............

;) ;) ;)
