Durango Passed MOT!!!!....and then............

Post by Pete »

Well, the old (4 door) bus has got a ticket for another 12 months, which is nice.

However, driving it back home, the motor now baulks and will not rev over 4000 rpm in gear (there is a Trans sensor that stops this in "N" and "P").

It is a 5.7 Hemi but an earlier one that does not shut cylinders down..

I wonder if it is a case of "They don't like it up them!" and the emissions test has caused a temporary mixture issue and the ECU has thrown an eppie.....

Has anyone else had this at all or heard about it?

Cheers

Pete

One of my old Dakotas used to go into some kind of transmission limp mode, disconnecting the battery & reconnectin it would reset things, make sure you have the code for the radio, if it has one, first.
You can't have too much power, only a lack of traction!

I feel your pain mate. My ' modern '(20 year old) Ram has a brain.
All very new to me. Time to do a bit of code reading , as I believe your used to with your old Durango.
They can do funny things some times.
When I got my Jeep a few things didn't work as they should.
Researched. Unplugged Battery for 20 mins. Sorted !!
Thank your stars it's not on LPG. That really confuses them ....... ;)
