Had a bit of a day. Involves Santana blood. Grrrr

Post by MilesnMiles »

Ok, so I could post about the hours of trial fitting, mocking up and the need to file out the bolt holes until number 7 pipe for my TTI headers would line up with the holes in the cylinder head. About 3 hours or so.

I wil mention the ease with which I made up the necassery exhaust section all match up to the new headers and how it sits high and clear of speed bumps etc.

And the there's the pleasure of firing the car up and hearing how sweet it sounds through the new headers.

For about two minutes. And then I saw the smoke.

Satan blood as I will call it is transmission fluid which was pouring out over the exhaust, my garage floor and shortly afterwards, me.
That stuff has the viscosity to cover everything in site as any of you with trans incidents will know.
So I crawled under the car with a touch, wiped everything down and saw the trans cooler pipe hanging off.
I knew I'd loosened it to move the trans lines clear of the headers, but I knew I'd tightened it up.

So, yes the thread was cross threaded either by me or a PO but I had lots of fun trying to remove it from behind the headers.

Anyway, I need a new trans thingy union to get me back on the road
Please see my wanted as if you can help.

Yea that has happened to me too, lately it was a vette, and it was PS fluid pretty much same thing, it blew every where, it gets in places unimaginable.

Get your part and fix it and have fun :thumbright:

Used to always have some of those brass fittings to hand back in the Torqueflite days. I'll have a look in my box of tricks at work Tomorrow, if there's none there they went with all the rest of my stuff.
