Roadrunner temp gauge problem

Post by Ashy22 »

Hi Guys,

A really small problems with my newly acquired 69 Roadrunner 383.

Temperature gauge doesn't work.

Where should I start looking first?

It's totally stock by the way.

Any advice would be useful please.

Thanks

Paul :? :?

Turn the ignition on, take the wire off the temp sender and earth it somewhere, if gauge goes up it's the temp sender, if not it could be the wiring or the gauge.
Are we there yet dad ..... 10 to the gallon but worth it.

Does the fuel gauge work? Often both fail, because the voltage reducer behind the dash panel fails.

Thanks Derek.

Just took the wire off and put it to earth and yes the gauge went right the way up.

So the sender unit is faulty.

Easy to get hold of?

Cheers Paul

OK i've ordered one from RockAuto.

I will let you know how I get on when it arrives.
