Non starting Charger

As most of you know I use my Charger as much as possible, well, on Tuesday it would not start, which is very strange for my car, in 22 years of ownership it has been great.

For a while now every now and again it's hard to star,t but has always started, Tuesday it didn't, I tried coil. ballast resitor, cap, rotor arm, orange box and a lot more.

I did find however if I moved the wiring along the passenger side of the car near the front it would start, so I thouht it must be in the wiring, I untaped the lot, did continuity tests and all was fine, buy then I had called Aton a few times for his thoughts on it, everything he suggested I had done.

Buy now I was Bananarama! off and pulling my hair out, then I had a thought, when I had tested the plug that goes to the orange box I couldn't get my circuit tester in there far enough so I put a nail in there with a clip on the end and all was fine , power was getting in there.

It turned out to be the plug that goes to the orange box wasn't being pulled on enough by the screw that goes throuh the middle of it so every now and again it wasn't making contact.

It took me just over 5 hour to sort this out but happy days are here again

Well done Derek...great fix and glad you got there. I remember Ade Worman telling me that the screw that holds that plug in really cant be relied on!

Glad you sorted it Derek. I still can't believe that no one bothered to buy my brand new OEM correct orange box to dizzy/loom wiring loom a while back. Considering the age of the parts it's no surprise things break down.

Right up there with antons grounding tach - i would never have found that.
