[quote="Jack Claw"]As far as I know, the car was left in the UK by a US serviceman, who was recalled to the US to answer some allegations... Then owned by Dutch, Kenny Slippers then bought it and restored it, sold to Lee, then Steve, then I bought it nearly 20 years ago. A few years back, pulled out and preserved the nos matching motor, Billadeau built a motor from a pile of bits I got from Nige, then I got it thoroughly restored by Ash the Bash. I used to be a club member some years back, but let it lapse tut tut!

I have to say, I'm very pleased and happy with, proud of the car, very tidy, very fast.[/quote

Paul Bateman got it from the serviceman, he sold it to Muldoonie and then it went to the west country, Beavis Allen or Dale the fibreglass had it I forget which now. After that it retired to the north to live out a life of pampered luxury...
I remember when Chris got it there was still the remains of a multi carb fuel system under the bonnet, we figured it had had a tunnel ram on it at some point hence the hemi scoop it was wearing at the time.
It was a fast car way back then too, and had a great sound with it's big hemi Mufflers rather than the crass sounding Cherry bombs most people were using at the time, I was a convert after that and have used those mufflers on every car I've built since.
Thinking about it Chris was one of the first Mopar guys I met when I got my first one which is probably why I remember your car so well. I have some old photo's somewhere...

Here's a couple from the dawn of time. I'm the good looking one on the right, I'd be about 25 then so that would be 34 years ago...

Thanks again Blue. Any idea how quick it used to be? I think it ran 12.8 with 4 summat gears in....

I can only comment on when Chris had it. It was running about 13.5 on street tyres through the mufflers with 3.91 gears. That was very respectable at the time when "fast" street cars over here were in the high 11's.

It can cruise the motorway speed limit without screaming it's nads off, other than, I've no idea what the gears are now. It's run a non too shabby 11.6 this year

If you know the tyre dimensions and the RPM @ a specific speed then I can calculate the rear gears for you if you wish.

I knew you're a clever guy Pete, it's got 275/60/15s and its doing zero rpm at the moment. What do you reckon?

Thanks Pete, I'll give you a less dumbass response after the next time it's rolling! It's doing about 6000rpm at 116 when it crosses the line, if that's accurate enough...?

My best guess is 3.91:1 gears... :thumbright: :thumbright:
