on /off brakes

Post by ALLAN »

The Polara s brakes are a tad on or off,lot of pedal travel then lock up at low speed, very snatchy, not noticed any snatching at road speed, pulls up nice and straight tho, going to replace the original servo/master cylinder and balance valve,if it has one,I feel they've done well to last 40+years,I'd like to replace front drums with discs but don't want to change the rims, any ideas? Any recommendations for parts suppliers in or around Lincs,South Yorks, other than Rock Auto

Wilwoods via WASP is probably your best bet.

Wayne aka the 'Ram man' is probably the best source for upgrading Mopar stuff with other Mopar parts. I have his big brake kit on my RR.

Linda's Monaco's drums are the same, very abrupt at low speeds.

It seems to be a Mopar thing.

thanks, had all the air pipes off and put some better caps on the servo connection and its a lot better, still a little grabby but dosen't put you through the window and much better at speed, I think some of it could be because it stood for a couple of months, we'll see how it goes. one thought, is the push rod( pedal to master ) different lengths for different models ?

I've watched a few of his videos. Is he fairly good to deal with?
