A power wire from battery to positive coil wont work because the orange box wont get power and the dissy pick up wont get a signal.
Put a jumper wire for batt positive to the key side of the ballast resistor.
Eliminate the ballast resistor temporary buy joining the two wires together. Don't leave it like that is the car fires and runs or you'll damage the coil after a while.

Have you checked the Dizzy???
No spark would possibly suggest an issue here?

I had the pleasure of staying in the hotel Alfonso in Seville, for just over 6 weeks. Lovely place ...MilesnMiles wrote:Thanks all, currently nowhere near car.
Sat in bed in an apartment in Seville. Which is very nice.
Car can wait

Yep, I'm heading towards the dizzy. I have 12v at the switch side of the ballast. Haven't yet checked if spark coming from the HT lead, that's next.
I did pull the rotar from the dizzy and noted that the knurled trigger piece (forgotten name) rises up the shaft as the rotar is removed, but it's still locked in place with the pin.
