Check my yoke out
Ok chaps, what do you think? About 2" in from the end the yoke is clearly marked. This is a wear mark and can clearly be felt as a step.
Cause of my vibration issues?

But according to those surfin' dudes, the Beach Boys, vibrations are good (or should that be goo?).MilesnMiles wrote:Ok Blue, thanks for clearing that up. Not sure what's next if the yoke is good
UJs are all goo as is pinion bearing. Looks like I'll have to put up a 'vibration' thread as it has got worse over time.
Sorry, that was a terrible yoke.

Mine's off the car at the moment, I'll measure tonight, as far as I know it's all original
In your first photo, presuming the shiny section goes in the tail shaft and the black section doesn't, mine looks about the same

Hi Miles
Have you had the propshaft balanced?
Check the prop to see if all the balance weights are still there?
Whats the condition of the UJ's?
Did you mark the position of the prop as to how it came out of the diff? Try it both ways round to see if it make a difference.
Is the prop dead straight with no dents in it?
I have a tailshaft bush if you need one to eliminate that.

Thanks chaps.
OK, prop was new on the car when purchased in 2012. Very minimal vibes at the time. I drove to Shakey and back in one day and didn't feel any vibes in 2013. noticed rhythmic vibes at cruise speeds on trip to Pod 2015. Got worse since despite changing UJs
Will check for weights tonight
UJs are new in last few months
Pinion bearing seems fine
Prop always returned as it came out
Yoke feels correct except for some up/down play and it does have a step in it as described above.
Interested in yoke length as mine is 9" which I cant even find for sale. I need to measure the prop tonight.
According to Denny's website, a overlong yoke as a crutch for a short prop shaft is likely to lead to vibration.
