Looks great, floor space is a couple of feet wider and about 10ft deeper than I have, it disappears very quickly when you are dealing with American dimensions.

Is this building double skinned with insulation between? Otherwise it will drip condensation over everything inside!

Doesn't it just...

Standard single garage + A body + toolchest and shelving = 8mm to spare at either end of the car.

I spent many years working out of a single car lock up with an A body and a 100ft extension cable for power, it can be done but fun it ain't. Once you've had the luxury of space it would be very hard to do without it.

Hi, it will be based on 60mm kingspan insulation, the sort you suggest.
They're not cheap at about Â£7k for just the cladding

Very envious of your planned garage. Keep details of whatever insulation you elect to use though. Insurance companies tend not to like some types of composite/sandwich insulation panels (mainly those with polystyrene internals) so you stand a better chance of an accurate premium if you can address this question at the outset.

Work started today.

Moved the soakaway which was under where the new drive will be.
Plans from my engineer show 850 mm of type 1 required (eek).
That's 240 tonnes, or to help those like me who like to quantify things, twelve mostly full 8 wheel fixed 21 tonne dumper trucks.

in other words a s*it tonne of hardcore.

Tomorrow this continues.

update

We needed 260 tonnes in the end.
All ready for DPM and then shuttering then 35m cubed of concrete.

Can you explain what the cream gravel does and why you've dug a moat around the perimeter?
Genuinely interested - I just have no idea how a building goes together!
