Just another Saturday morning at JC's...

Post by RobTwin »

As some of you may have seen over on facebook, Stu and I made one of our occasional trips to see JC and the gang down at his workshop last Saturday. This time though, it wasn't just a social visit as we had the small matter of checking out our latest purchase that had been delivered there late on Friday.

Long story short, our previous engine in the Sport Satellite needed a bit more work than turned out to be practical, so the next best option was to import one to our spec from a trusted engine builder. And the engine builder we trusted in this case is/was Koffel's Place.

Anyhoo, as this is supposed to be the short version, I'll skip forward to when we took delivery from Koffel's, via Ron Fenton, at JC Auto Finishers.

I'll do a proper update in our Workshop thread at some point but for now, here's a few pics from Saturday...

Some nice motors in there for sure,
Hope your new engine turns out good for you.
Although I don’t like the look of that ratchet and extension resting on the battery of Jc’s runner.😰

I think Paul and Jason were the youngest there, and they're both heading towards their mid-50s now!

Can't beat new toys!
Must be nice that you guys get on so well. I don't think I could share the same air space with my younger brother let alone a car!!!

Hi Dorian - the engine was dyno'd before it shipped and had to be drained, so that was just some water that had dripped out of the water pump during shipping.... tho it could have been Stu's tea, I spose, looking at one of those pics :D

Quick specs :

493 stroker (440 block)
452 heads
484 hyd cam
Holley 770 cfm Avenger carb
Performer RPM dual plane inlet
Mech fuel pump
Firecore distributor
etc

:study:
