Best spark plugs

Hi I’ve been using champion spark plugs in my 440. They seem to choke up pretty regular. Could anyone recommend a better plug. My car has been set up by one of those gas analizing machines by a good mate of mine. So I’m pretty sure it’s correct. Any input. Cheers

Others will disagree but as far as I'm concerned a spark plug is a spark plug. As long as it's the correct fit and heat range I've never found one make to be better or worse than any other.
Unless someone has taken the time to set the distributor up correctly your timing will not be correct and that more than likely is not helping matters.

He did set the timing up as well from the book. I guess I’ll have to take it back down and get him To re set everything. The engine has only done about 50 miles since rebuild so it could be @ll the rebuild oil doing the damage? But thanks for the reply

If you are referring to the timing settings in the factory service manual they are years out of date, modern fuels require far more initial advance which in turn means that the mechanical advance in the distributor needs limiting so you don't end up with more than 34 degrees total timing. Very few people take the time to get it right to be honest.

I don’t realy understand that.what should the timing be set at with a strobe light? Sorry I’m a bit dim when it comes to this sort of thing. I think it was set at 7.5 deg before top dead. Is that totally wrong?

I appreciate your input blue. It’s blacking up my plugs and there’s a definite hesitation when you kick the gas pedal down. Obviously all to cock.

No you'll need more than 7.5 degrees initial, my stock 360 is at 18 and my hot rodded 318 needed over 20, every engine is different. There is a procedure to follow to figure out what your engine needs, it takes some time to do but you'll be rewarded with an engine that runs cooler and has sharp throttle response. To save me typing it all out I'll see if I can find an article to scan.

I’d appreciate that very much. The guy that set my car up is a good lad. Knows his stuff but his stuff is Audi’s. He’s racing in a week or so at pikes peak in Colorado. But he can only set it up to what I tell him.
