Hesitation problem at 3500-4000 rpm

Hello people,
Barracuda was running great last time took it out in Feb after fitting new tank sender. Went out first time today and have this problem, goes good up to the 3500 ish rpm and then starts to stumble come of the throttle and clears.
Found a small split in vacuum hose and fixed that also new plugs. Something I did notice when I removed the air filter the back bowl vent had petrol spitting out of it, is this normal?
Help much appreciated.
