A good friend came over with a spare pair of hands and can-do attitude and we got the new tank seal and boot floor seal done finally. The old seal was in a right old state…

In other news, an actual productive day when nothing went wrong!

24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
And as for the mystery boot to floor “seal” that was dangling from the pipe up to now???
It’s no wonder no one recognised it. It’s BMW.
Lord knows what was going on there…

Fuel line, straight along the chassis tie to the front, bit of rubber tube around for protection where it passes through the chassis and the front section sleeved in heat sleeving where it passes the headers. Brake line runs down the other side in much the same manner.

I can’t believe how clean the underside of your car is!
That does look very much like a simpler set up.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
This is the pump I found, still in the box and wrapping.
To fit or not to fit, that is the question!
Just realised I didn’t check the sizes of the hose fittings, though.

Need to see the actual pump to advise but I suspect it will be a stock replacement with 5/16” connections.

Yes, pretty sure it is, but will measure up when I can get to it. Found the part number online, but doesn’t seem to say.
Suspect I just need to pick up the correct pump I need.

You could just fit that and bin off the electric for now.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
Yes, that’s fair comment. Could use the existing fuel line if there’s enough. Pump is only £30 worth, so no great loss to swap it out later in the season I guess.

There you go
one branded but ultimatly unbranded pump....
they probably all come out of the same mexican or chinese factory....
[or indeed south korean as the case is here, by the look of things]
you just pay more for a longer defect warranty and a nicer box when you recognise the maker...

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
Yep, reckon that’s about the top and bottom of it!
Will order what I need for the new set up and likely put up with what I have for now, rather than spend on new lines twice.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
Morning!
Well, a complete weekend with the girls away, so a lie in and breakfast, time to go and get stuck in. Brace yourself for many questions…
Aim for this weekend - fit new alternator if I can figure out what to do with the old wiring as well as the new. As usual, the destructions assume a level of knowledge, so useless to me.
- strip rear bumper, valance and lights see if I can straighten the wonky rear end out
- mock up rear indicators and see if I can get them working
Let’s see how many of those I can fail to get done.
