I have often wondered if the deal is all done well advance of filming.

i'd have been a bit annoyed if two potential purchasers were egging each other on to pick at any rusty bits before money changed hands

I was chatting to a guy I bought some parts from a few years back and a friend of his sold a car to Wheeler Dealers and apparently the price agreed on camera was way lower than what they actually paid.

i'd take a guess as well then that some of the sales, once the car is done, involved numbers that were not reflected correctly if it made for a poor story.

that jensen went to Auction so there was i guess no "fudging" of the £££££, and they both seemed a little aggrieved at the loss.... hence the constant referral to its provenance and making it as good a new, viable for another 50 years of use, they needed to extract a positive for the story.

BUT Mike and his mate standing outside a lockup shaking hands with a prospective purchaser....Mmmm.. never a loss when you are not paying for the labour.

I didnt actually watch it to the end - so they made a loss after all done ? They shoulda known they were in troubel when they saw the 2 bentleys lurking menacingly.. hahaha

Matts point ref price not only agreed but different for TV is interesting...

I watched this ages ago, when it first aired, but from what I remember, it needed so much work, they were always going to make a loss. They did a great job, very thorough, but cost loads more than it was ever going to be worth.
Which is fine when it's being done for tv as they will foot the bill, but if it was any of us doing it, we'd probably think twice before taking it on.

I'm sure Duncan wouldn't have made a loss on it though ;)
