Talking of weight saving...
I watched a video last night of some chap who has a collection of early hemi & MW Plymouths.
The presenter lifted a 'lightweight' front bumper from a 64 Plymouth off a top shelf, I thought he was going to struggle and knock everything else off the shelf.
Not sure if it was ally or steel, but i think he said it was only 1mm thick and about half the weight of a much smaller Camaro bumper.
This chap has some stuff!

I’ll have a watch of that, cheers. I have a lightweight gravel pan, it plan to keep the full bumpers on there. I’m sticking with keeping it street-strip, rather than race car.

The gift that just keeps giving… Rear panel is in need of repair as well. Decided not to replace this one, largely due to having already spent the engine fund on panels and welding. It’ll have to be patched.

In other news, though, the installation of the new Flintstones rear drive is coming along nicely.

Re: Floyd Brothers 70 Challenger
Being as I can’t help with the rear end, I spent a bit of time finding some bits that aren't full of holes and rust… which was nice.
That is, until I found some more big wedges of sealant and hiding holes and rust…

Make sure you blow out the cowl drains, there can be an huge amount of leaves and debris in there.

Genuine 70’s California leaves for sale on eBay, along with a collection of genuine barn find dust and “patina” cuttings from original panels.
That ought to pay for all the welding!

Whilst you are there check the upstands in the plenum that duct the air for the heater are not rotted away, they stop the water running through the plenum and falling on your feet inside.
I had to cut the top of my bulkhead off, fix it all up inside the put the top of the bulkhead back on. A camera inside should help to see what it is like.

That’s an interesting one, Matt. I’ll have a look and see what I can see today.
