Cheers Miles, that was the wiper switch actually, we just couldn't work out how the hell it worked! There were lives going in and comin out in all directions it made no sense at all. We eventually worked out the motor has TWO windings and spins in REVERSE for different functions

No-one will believe you...
A bit more done-
Jaspers really cracked on with the wiring, this pic is the fuse panel he's made to fasten up under the passenger side dash- rainbow vomit has been mentioned... Now all the under dash and engine bay wiring is complete, just the back end of the car to do.
I've finished the rad pipes, the blue anodised housing i've adapted for the fan control sender wire.
I also made a little stainless bracket to mount washer jets, this will sit just inside the cowl mouth.

Had a really good day on the car today
Sorted out the timing marks (see other thread), filled the radiator, fixed the leaking stat housing
, remembered to earth the motor to the frame
, plumbed in the screen washer, modded the throttle cable mount, and fitted a return spring, discovered the throttle cable is too short so extended it with a keyring..fitted my new gearstick- it's a mystery one possibly from a Camaro, it's slightly too short really but i'll fix that. I also bolted the headers on, the main pipes will foul the gearbox rear mount so i'll need to tweak things there.
Jasper got the last bits of wiring finished apart from tidying up the cable ties, etc, so we gave the engine a spin over. I'd left one plug out to check for a spark which we got
I put fuel in the tank and checked for leaks. A couple of pints at first, then went up to a couple of gallons bit by bit. It was only when we tried out the pump that it sprang a leak on the filter housing, this is of course before the pump
Very annoying as the way it's plumbed, i had to take the pump and filter assembly completely out and rotate the whole filter to tighten it as there's no swivel
Thats where we ran out of time. So no fire-up but lots of progress and a couple of major leaks sorted!
