A few lines from The Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy, thought it was appropriate ;)
"That," he said, "that... is really bad for the eyes."
It was a ship of classic, simple design, like a flattened salmon, very clean, very sleek. There was just one remarkable thing about it.

"It's so... black!" said Ford Prefect. "You can hardly make out its shape... light just seems to fall into it!"

The blackness of it was so extreme that it was almost impossible to tell how close you were standing to it.

"Your eyes just slide off it..." said Ford in wonder.
My lines wax less lyrical, That is simply Jaw droppingly awesome

As Mike sez, that is jaw droppingly splendid. Great sense of vision. Not only got the mechanical aspect, but the aesthetics, too.

Hats of to you Mark.......It looks the dogs and incredibly evil at the same time!

Agree with others......Much prefer this to the green!

Don't remember seeing this before in the thread:
What was the output of the green monster and what are your hopes for the revised Black?

Put in a few hard hours down the garage since the car has been back.

Plumbed in the aux fuel pump, switch all wires & the car now starts :) waiting for #12 to #10 fitting & then all the fuel system is done.
Re plumbed the ice cooler drain
Hood trimmed to clear the wipers
Fixed all the leaks, need to run motor on load to fully check
Seats all bolted in, along with Seat belts
Elec system checked, connections all cleaned, relays & fuses labelled.

Thanks to Harry for his help over the last week.

Hope to be 100% buttoned up by Tues & loaded on trailer Tues night, in readiness for early start to the Pod on Weds, fingers crossed :thumbright:

Well, the Test n Tune was a bit of a disaster....

Despite fuel system being OK on the Tues, with the addition of the priming pump, it decided to give problems when at the track. Seems like the Non return valve is not working correctly. So more mods to be done to the fuel system, not major...

Also had some elec issues, mainly related to the Coil packs pulling more power (17 amps per coil) than the circuit. This necessitated installing a temporary relay. Will change coil wiring so that it has it's own wiring system, with 60 amp capacity

Alternator decided to stop giving out a charge, so plagued with low voltage battery.

What with the combined fuel, coils & low battery problems, took a while to decipher what were the real problems.

On a plus side, I got to drive the car around the pits n fire up roads, enabling some tweaks additions to the fuel map, also some low end boost, testing of Line lock & trans brake.

Off to India Monday, then US, then Mexico so won't be back home till early Oct :( at least I can pick up some needy parts while in the US :)

I will get the opportunity after I return to get some road miles in, before returning to the track, be that this year or next.....
