I think I'm with Mark on this one, but that's probably because I know you. You need to go a bit easy with the new guys though, It's a bit off putting with a welcome ofmopar_mark wrote:Now there's an open questionR.RUNNER wrote:I think this thread should let you all post what you think about me and my sense of humor, as it seems some of you out there don`t have much of one![]()
I get your sense of humor, pretty much aligned with my own.
We seem to be able to give & receive the mickey taking, but would seem some on here can only give it out![]()
Keep it up old son, I still love you![]()
Not you as well by any chance is it Mr RR?I'll tell you why. Over there, the core users are a pretty close knit group. We do a lot of events together. I've stayed at other peoples houses. I know their wives and kids etc.
Here's an analogy. Rebel is a bit like the pub. If you're in the pub with your group of mates and you call one of them a twat, it's probably taken in the form that its given.
If you shout out "twat" across the bar at someone you've never met, there's a very good chance that things will kick off.
That's pretty much exactly what happened. If Zapp had made a few meetings and got to know people first, 99% of what he said would have been taken in context.
mad machs wrote:OK, here's my take on things, you enjoy banter & a laugh as do pretty much most of us, but the distinction is most of us wade in with the banter with folk we actually know, or at least have had dealings with one way or another before. Now, from what I've seen lately you start pressing the buttons unaware of how you're coming over, not only to the poor sod you're having a dig at but also the whole board, Anton's Charger thread is a good example as that is obviously why you've started this thread off.
It's not a case of being devoid of a sense of humour or anything like, it's more like keyboard talk differing from real life dramatically.
There has been a new user sign up on the MOCGB forum using the pseudonym of a cartoon character from the TV series Futurama , after looking at links to his posts on a forum that this individual subsequently had to leave I can see many similarity's in style.
Here's what their site admin had to say-

Spot on........It's not that people don't have a sense of humour, coz most do, it's when you start to take the mick out of people or their work that actually comes across as an insult rather than the fact your "trying" to have a joke with them.mad machs wrote:.........it's not a case of being devoid of a sense of humour or anything like........
