After a long spell of little activity, there has been a brief flurry of progress.
Ive started a new thread as the old one ia awol, though im reliably assured its making a comeback!
Ive managed to get all the bits and pieces for the engine that needed to go on prior to painting, and even managed to get them bolted onto it
And so it ws, out with the orange paint

Glad you're back on track Roger, hope to see the old thread back soon too
Orange manifolds tho? Not seen that before

Not on a serious resto, at least

If the manifolds aren't painted, it isn't done right

Its factory.
Nice work on the car in the link. They have done the engine wrong though on several counts.

You tell him Roger!
I notice you've even done the factory thing of spraying half the earth strap!

I'd have thought maybe bare metal with a bit of overspray, but completely orange?
You learn something everyday! Well, i do
Quite a few of those MCR jobs have a few areas that arent quite as original but they seem to have a lot of customers with funny ideas of what looks best!

Yes sorry Ivor, meant to get back to you yesterday about those, having forgotten for the last couple of weeks
We need to sort a mutually agreeable date to pop over & collect them. I'll pm you again so as not to clutter Roger's nice new thread!

Hi Roger,
Looking good there!
Is that a 70/71 hemi oilpan, have you checked it will clear the 69 K-member?
Didn't want to spoil ya day, just trying to be helpful???
I think its overspray on da manifolds LOL.
Keep up the good work, resto's of this quality are few and far between!
Bacca, only slightly jealous?
ps, ask Paul500 or Nick about the screw-driver in da engine frame disaster!

What makes you say that? You had me worried so i just went and checked my original pan to the one on there now. They are identical.
Its actually rather difficult to just get overspray on the most prominent part of the engine. I suspect my mistake was trying to get in all the corners and using 2 coats!
