every yank i have owned i always feel like the steerinbg wheel is in your chest
seats dont go back far enough legs to close to pedals
for short guys it must be murder
anyway column was out of the satellite so thought i woud shorten it by 2” just to play safe
now i have shortened it i reckon u could easy double that
pressed old pin out, measured flat surface distance from end ground & filed it accordingly measured distance from end to hole, drilled new hole then pressed in old pln back in, there is 2 spring steel washers under curved coupling spacers and were sligtly worn so i added a thin washer under each shim fitted coupling back together now tight as drum and steering wheel definitely feels in a better place

Nice one, you could also replace the stock pot joint with a universal joint from Borgeson or Flaming River while you were doing this mod, that's what I've done with the last few cars I've had.

I have done the same, uses a "Double D" UJ and also a roller bearing at the bottom of the column.

I have also taken the spacer out of the Challenger Column so it is about 5" shorter overall, I can just about squeeze my gut around that and the Kirkey seat......
