Been found in Hoddesdon.
Police said it looks "ok" , and last I heard was he was awaiting a call to go and view it.
So frustrating. Poor blokes just moved house to a "better" area , and this happens !!!
Not fair , but that's life !!! :?

I am never sure if it is better to have it found, or just bite the bullet via the insurance on a total loss.....

Frequently they’re parked up for a while to see if there’s a tracker fitted, but as Pete says sometimes if it’s gone altogether it’s a better solution. Hopefully just key hacked and driven to its location.

A couple of years ago I had one stolen and found/given back,it took a lot of phone calls to get HPI to take it off their register. Also three weeks back I had one paid for on a stolen debit card,I’ve been charged back by the card company and am appealing but doesn’t look hopeful, vehicle crime is low priority for police too in my experience.

“ to take it off their register” ?
What register? The ‘this vehicle has been previously stolen’ register ?

If it’s recovered and no insurance claim is lodged it’s my understanding that it is not listed on the registers.

Only ever had one car stolen, back in the late 80's I think, a brown MkV Cortina 2.0 Ghia (there's posh!), from central London while we were there for a gig one evening. Had a phone call a week or so later from the police saying it had been found and was parked near Lewisham police station.
We drove down to identify it was ours, expecting it to be in a secure area within the police station but were told it was in a road nearby, where it had been dumped by whoever stole it.
Well, we couldn't find it where they said it was. Turns out it had been stolen again. Presume it had been left unlocked... not that that would stop anyone trying to steal a Cortina
