Not too late to fit a modern design cam in your engine instead of the 40 year old design you have in there now Clivey. A Comp Cams or Hughes with the same duration will make more power without any other changes.

Dave,

I am a simple chap, and wouldnt even know where to start with choosing one. I need to be pointed at these things, and told 'buy that'.

I have a stock grind one from (I am trying to hide now) Mopar Perf. Parts. I have been told they are bad, but how bad can they be?.

I just want to drive the darn thing, so have paid absolutely no attention to hopping things up. I have been a bit wrong -have I?

Wendy. Do try and wear the correct clothing when working on something as dangerous as a car.

Denim shorts and a white vest that is soaked through with your body sweat should be ideal.
Also it is essential that you get some dirty finger marks on said vest and a black smudge on your cheek or the end of your nose.

Without these sort of precautions you might end up doing yourself some harm. It is in your best interests and I assure you I say this with your safety foremost in my mind.

It will work. But not as well as it could. Probably only 20hp difference to a modern design at a guess. But easier to change now than later when you decide you do want to run faster than 15 seconds on the strip.

well thank god dave,that's what i normally wear,thought for a minute i would have to go out and buy,new work clothes

i have to wear that saftey foot wear clivey in fact they are boots, or i could not reach in the engine bay you know how short i am
