Hi Steve...I sell car keys, cases and transponders these days to earn a crust but don't do any programming on immobilisers...the following may help though.....
Each key has a code imprinted on it, no battery of any type just a random code. When you go to start the car the immobilizer ECU sends a signal to the key. If the signal it receives back from the key matches one of the 5 keys it keeps in its memory, it sends a "OK start" message to the PCM starting the car. If it doesn't see the "OK start" signal it doesn't start and the green key light in the dash flashes.
In short there is no way to reset it without Diagnostic equipment. You can try another key if you have one, or, you can try and disconnect the battery for a few minutes and hopefully it will reset the computer which has got itself into a twist to factory settings, you'll lose your radio code though. You could also try a local Auto Locksmith before going to Honda if all else fails.

hope this helps some.
