I dont really want to do this if i can find a way without cutting the mounts.

Okay this is a cool trick. It is near impossible to get the sway bar rubber over the sway bar and into the bracket. It can be done with a myriad of clamps and tools and a lot of time but check out this trick. If you remove the bracket and old rubber then cut the bracket along the factory weld as shown in this picture. Take your brackets off and sand and paint them then reassemble the entire assembly.

what about putting a rad hose clip roudn the whole rubber to make it smaller then Bananarama! into the bracket in the vice or something with the aid of a bit of wood or sometjhing to Bananarama! out of the clip

it was impossible for me to get the bush(poly) in and on the sway bar at the same time, i ended up cutting and welding it back, so quick and simple that i was annoyed with myself for wasting ages trying to press it in in the first place

You could 'Yehaa!' it in with a couple of g clamps and a press. Did you try greasing it first to make it more slippery?

It almost looks easier to put the bush in the recess first then push the sway bar through.

Do as I did, swear at it, that frightened it, then it just slid on with a bit of force. No need to cut it and weld it.
Are we there yet dad ..... 10 to the gallon but worth it.

Silicone grease.

Roger introduced me to the stuff and it is the answer to life, the universe, alien abduction, grilled kippers, childs tricycles, old gramaphone players and getting yer bushes in.

Try it! :)
