We have a bit of rain in Colorado

Well the sun has come out after 5 days of rain I collected 6 inches.

now for yall that may seem light but here for the season average is 12 inches so we had one half season of rain in 5 days.

some parts in Boulder /Lyons got over 12 inches if this were next month in cooler times it would have been 100 inches of snow .

The people in the cars in the third pic managed to get out of their cars except the car on the right the truck slammed in to the only access out, so dive teams had to rescue him, after the the truck became lodged under the black gas pipe ,the water became to strong after 5 minutes all the vehicles were washed down river and they had to shut down gas supply

yea wild fires and then floods amazing weather here sometimes

Terrible, we have been following it.

I have been to Boulder and when I went there it was pretty dry!!!

And here's me on a Friday evening fed up cause I lost a days work due to rain.
Always someone somewhere worse off.

These are only pics from two days ago , the whole road is gone for 17 miles , this is only one of hundreds of roads and major highways are washed over or completely gone.

The flood damage so far covers 150 square iles , the amazing thing nis it has stopped raining and the rivers continue to rise due to the late run off from the mountains, entire towns are cut off and ...................more rain is coming

Ahh so you know the terrain , Boulder is a mess , they got the brunt of the storm ,Boulder creek was a raging river, they estimate over 13,000 cubic feet per second went down that area

Of course here is what they do in boulder

I was told Boulder had no fresh water there (no Wells) and they had tankers running 24 x 7 to bring in drinking water for the populace and the tourists from Vegas.

It would seem they have plenty now..........

Well in perspective not to bad it dumped another inch in one hour here yesterday,I have my brothers house to care for and they got 3 inches in an hour so I spent hours with a wet shop vac cleaning up his carpet .

Today will be one of those days today spent watching the skies and radar thanks technology for that.

I live on the Middle of a hill,the Dutch builders that built my house smartly installed a french drain around the perimeter of the house ,it works very well as it is dry at the moment after 7 inches of rain I expected it to have some water in it, but no completely dry so it works.

but other parts of town simply dont have the drainage to accommodate all this water it is literally biblical proportions I would not use this term lightly , but we have a crap load of rain here ,it looks to be dieing out here by the first of the week .

this has been alot like the movie ground hog day , the same thing everyday rain and more rain ,

I dont know how you all put up with so much rain it rusts the brain......................long reply ,sorry but thanks for asking

I know this from visiting the U.K. IS,.... it is nice to have a hot cuppa

Good to hear your ok Drew. We had floods here last year.like you we where the lucky ones not getting flooded. My nearest neighbours are about 500yards away & got 3ft through the house. Best of luck & hope you keep safe.

Ya know it seems like I remember your flooding last year.

its all luck some houses fair very well and some are in an unknown area that gets exposed by water and sure enough someone gets the brunt of it and some dont,luck of the draw ,I have a good hand so far
