Frosties Dart

Post by GJUK »

Thought it would be an idea, a good one I hope, to start a thread on the dart.
So here goes :D

I went to Shakey with a friend to see hot rod drags in 2013, while there i spotted a few cars with an amazing rear end. The shape was one to die for and then one of the owners (Guy) started up his car and was playing about in the engine bay, revving it up.

That was it, I had to get one.

Long story short, I imported This car from Kansas just before Christmas 2013.

In the container:

Here it is in the UK.

And home.

It's quite amazing to think that with a bit of time and cash, the car is now in the UK rather than the US. Poor thing probably hates the weather!

I got and MOT on the car...

And then painted the bonnet black, which took longer than I expected :D

After about 3 weeks of ownership, the car was sent off to Pete at Chassis Tec Race Cars. For a full roll cage.

Pete is a top guy, his work is 10/10. Great chap to deal with

Since it's been back, took the seats out again.

stone chipped the floor.

... Cleaned the carpet and put the seats back. They need recovering to match the rears next.

Great looking car which to me was the best looking of the Early (pre 70) Darts.

What other plans do you have for this above and over what you have already done..........?

Great car...looks very solid and clean...a great blank canvas for your build.

I know what you mean about Guys car...its a real cracker of a car, and I love Micks car as well, all business. I was really taken by the MMA darts at the NEC last year, verh nicely proportioned cars.

keep it coming please matey and lots of detail when you do stuff please as those of us working on projects are like sponges with other builds....good to learn from the work you are doing

Cheers and great work! Thanks for sharing

cheers Steve :thumbright:

£2k ish. It was quite highly spec'd up though, painted all custom made. Done a cracking job. That included the springs moved in as well.

Amazing how times and prices change.......I got the '69 Cuda back halved, floor cut out, new chassis put in, axle narrowed, ladder bars made, all the joints, brackets, cage, front motor plate, tubs, f/well headers made for £1000!!!...but I did help with the Tin work!
