The different Scottish banks having different notes is what I mean. It confuses the issue and people don't know what a Scottish £20 is supposed to look like.

That seems to be the general English attitude as far as I can tell. It never seems to' be good luck I hope it all goes well', its more of a huffy indifference. :D

I think the Scots would be unwise to try to leave. Devolution has worked well for Scotland. Holyrood has powers of primary legislation and can even alter income tax rates by 3%. One of the more notable but less known policies passed was to grant crafters land rights to prevent the lairds kicking them off the land at no notice. Policy was deemed so radical that the Daily Torygraph called it 'socialist'
Nice to see Andy rightly focusing on the financial issues rather than some of the chest thumping that replaces reasoned argument elsewhere.
I reckon the real drive is for devolution Plus in which Salmond could get even more legislative independence from Westminster.

Meanwhile, some Catalans are watching this with keen interest as there is a growing drive to Catalan independence which could lead to the partial break up of Spain.

Unfortunately stupidity is inbred into the Sink Estate dwelling population of Scotland and nothing will change the habits of a lot of Scots. They are a lost cause. They give Scots a bad name the world over in the Oil Patch as Drilling attracts these goons who insist on living like animals and insisting on only eating fried food and trash off-shore. To be fair we get a lot of Northerners too, but they are also goons who all seem to be knuckle dragging Scaffs or Dopes on Ropes.

Norway was once like this but with the influx of Oil dollars the people have changed their lifestyles over the last 50 years considerably. Before the Oil fields Norway was much like Scotland, the food was also terrible. :D Norway also has zero debt and a huge Oil fund for future generations. . :O

How about if the Scots, Welsh, Cornish and Nor'n Irish all shunned England and joined together to form one Celtic Unified Nation Together?

Not sure what we'd call ourselves though...

Near St Austell, I was born there and dad worked for English China Clay, then we moved to Bromley, Kent . Mum and dad initially retired back to Carlyon Bay then they moved up to near Salisbury.

Back then St Austell was the only place an earthquake would have done improvements !
