Of course, but lets do the math;

4 Billion/5.2 Million = £769 pp.

12 billion/53million = £226.

;)

Well, if that gives you all a crumb of comfort, don't let the likes of us poor impoverished tax payer stop you

You'll all be rolling in it before you know it...rolling in what exactly, I can not imagine, probably won't be the jolly old pound though ;)

But no, I'm sure your fellow country men will see sense & we'll keep funding your prescriptions etc etc etc , guess the vote will be the acid test for this thread & the masses who have the most to lose will speak.

Oh the interminable waiting, tick follows tock....

If you still believe that then you are no less delusional that the rest of the English Population. ;) And evidence as to you you have no say in the Vote. You should remember that.....There is a good reason why we have so much 'free' stuff, it keeps the cash cow quite.

Oh,

Straight from the Horses mouth tonight where Salmond knocked Darlings back doors in. :D I presume like all the other links you'll not read this one either so Ill explain.; Mr Darling admitted Scotland could use sterling without the UK's permission

Ah The Jolly Old Daily Mail....

Quoting from that particular tabloid is almost akin to invoking Godwins law ;)

As I said, let the ones who have the most to lose decide this one, no doubt if the vote falls on the side of those who wish to continue The Union, those who wish to go it alone still won't accept it & will still be banging on about for many centuries to come.....

Its clear you have no real reply when you attack the paper the quote was taken from, would you prefer another source?

Anyway, must sleep, Ive oil to extract for Norway tomorrow. ;) You know, another small country that does very well on its own. :D

Im starting to get a glimmer of hope here after Darlings humping.

At least you are hapy to throw some banter back and fourth, so thanks. The view counter is steadily increasing but not many seem to be willing to join in. I find it odd that I am the sole Scotsman here as well. Surely there is more and not all can be nae voters? :D

Agreed, it's getting late, & as I work for the MoD I'm no doubt busy tomorrow making room for all the Tornados, Typhoons, Subs & Ships that we may have arriving back in our smaller union quite shortly ;)

The comments are the best bit. More delusional Guffs spouting out half baked idea's fed to them from Westminster. There is a distinct air of 'Im going home and taking my Ball too' with the bitter English commentators on the Daily Fail. The pols show that the majority of Europe are happy for Scotland to be independent, just not England and Norther Ireland for some bizarre reason. Its almost like they want us to go down with the misery ship. If they cant be happy neither can we.

I know how you feel, it's like when there is sport on the telly (not a great fan BTW) there's a certain small 'country' that will cheer for any team as long as it's playing against the English team.

No clues

Touche. ;)

Would be nice to actually have Scotland mentioned when our sports personalities win something, not often but when we do. Not that you'll hear that from English commentators. We're British until we lose then they get get called Scottish and said with such disdain too. And they wonder why we cant stand them?

You know, I really don't think that is true, look at all the racing drivers who hale from Scotland, there are a surprising many, they all have suffered set backs & enjoyed success, but I have always thought of the likes of Sir Jackie as Scottish & they are always are introduced a such.

Even that guy who plays tennis.

Right, more later, really have to call it a night.

Here ya go. ;) So you can see we are actually funding your Dole Bums. :D

As the Financial Times
article from February points out:
“Although Scotland enjoys public spending
well above the UK average – a source of
resentment among some in England, Wales and
Northern Ireland – the cost to the Treasury is
more than outweighed by oil and gas revenues
from Scottish waters.” [5]
On average, UK spending is around £1,200 higher per
person in Scotland than in the UK as a whole. But on
average Scotland sends £1,700 more per person to
the UK in taxes [13]. We only get back around 70% of
the extra money we send to London. The other 30% is
kept by Westminster and spent in England, Wales and
Northern Ireland.
