I like that idea Carl, I`ve seen a few very dissapointed Corvette drivers at one of their shows where there was one

Not sure if this has already been mentioned, but if you were at the nats last year and had a weekend ticket, you can get a 50% rebate off this year's ticket by ringing the box office due to the rain-out, and if you just had a Sunday ticket, you get a full refund!

http://www.santapod.co.uk/adverseweather.php

Just booked my ticket, and got £15.20 off the price of an early bird ticket (although you have to pay booking fee + postage as the rebate is done through the box office, not website), so just over £20 for a weekend at the Pod!

Adverse Weather Ticket Policy

In case of certain events being severely affected by adverse weather, please retain your ticket as a credit value may be attributed to your ticket. Any value awarded will be at the discretion of the Event Organizer. Where a credit value has been given, the relevant admission/grandstand ticket may then be redeemed in the advance booking period for the specified amount for a future Santa Pod organized event – valid for 12 months up to and including the relevant event affected.

TICKETS MUST BE REDEEMED IN ADVANCE - Redemption must be made by contacting the Box Office directly on 01234 782828 no later than the Friday 1 week prior to the event requested (Redemption can not be made on the gate), tickets bought on the gate must be posted to the office with your contact details before redemption can be made. Credit values/tickets to be redeemed on a 1 for 1 basis. No monetary refund is given.
If the new event is of a lesser value then the credit value, then any unused credit value will be lost.
Postage & Booking fees will still apply.
The Adverse Weather Policy only applies to the following Drag Racing meetings and RWYB days NOT specialist events:

(snip)

Credit values for the following events can ONLY be redeemed against the corresponding event for the following year:
- Mopar Nationals

(snip)

Mopar Nationals 2015

Weekend 50% (only vaild for Mopar Nationals 2016)
Sunday 100% (only vaild for Mopar Nationals 2016)

Nicola and I have never been to this event... kept threatening to go over the years but something has always cropped up. Looks like we've been missing out judging by the various picture threads and youtube videos...

Is there a dedicated MMA area in the pits? It'd be nice to put a few names to faces?

all the best,

Jon.

The reality is that the show is so big and the area is quite sprawling that it is very hard in practice to get all the MMA members in one place.

For example, the guys who actively race will plump for the Pits (if there is space!) and the more family-orientated will want to be away from the noise and may choose to camp elsewhere.

The main point is there is plenty of time to stroll about and chat to people - all are perfectly approachable.

Then there is the bar in the evening where we get to bench race and tell lies, and of course drink beer responsibly!!

Just to clarify another point, before the perennial beef about the "Burn Out Contest" on Sunday is raised.

To set the record straight, the "Burn Out Contest" takes place during Sunday Lunchtime when the track is officially CLOSED.

The track team take a statutory break after a heavy morning's racing.

The "Burn Out Contest" takes place when there is down time to provide entertainment for the public and racers alike.

You will note that NO car goes down the track when it takes place as all the crew have been stood down.

Whether you like the "Burn Out Contest" or not, it does not impact on track time.

Thanks

Pete

Grab a hot dog while the burn out contest is on big fella, and then get back to your car in the fire up lane for some more action.

See you at the 'Pod in January :thumbright: :thumbright:
