Couldnt help but notice on the NEC thread this sentiment from DougieJ -

I dont think we should EVER inspire anyone to go beyond where will is going... I'm not even sure I *get* where Will is going ! But I am really REALLY enjoying this thread and watching him go wherever-there-may-be !

A few years back on the last bike we Destroyed a tyre in 30 seconds on the dyno.

Don’t put drag slicks on a dyno !!!

Learning from my mistake I found a hard compound gravel rally tyre for an old 911 for £50 new old stock which we will use for dyno testing only.

Been spending some time looking at flow separation over the rider's head.

Been looking at the idea of bringing air in at the nose of the bike speeding it up and creating a blown wing over the riders heads.

Seeing a reduction in drag and a slight increase in lift

This view is almost like a MIR scan of what is happening in the different slices of the model in the wind tunnel.

Pay close attention to the separation above the rider and look at the large wake behind the bike

I agree I think if I had a large foot pedal with lots of mechanical advantage with a pedal close to the butterflies I would have gone cable.


A tiny twiste grip and 2m+ plus to the engine I swallowed the brave pill.

Now I fully understand the calibration and its shut down default parameters I’m happy

4 bolts and you can remove the complete axle rear wheel with axle and brakes quickly all in one lot !

Parachute pull points on the ends of the points pulling on axle center

100mm Hole up the hollow axle
